According to multiple sources, Manchester City are stepping up their interest in AC Milan midfielder Tijjani Reijnders. The Rossoneri value Reijnders at over €60million, but their fans have made it clear that, apart from their dissatisfaction with the 2024/25 season, they’re also unhappy about the club’s willingness to part ways with the 26-year-old Netherlands international.
Meanwhile, City are looking to restructure their squad – particularly the midfield section, with Kevin De Bruyne leaving the club and the failure to compete for the Premier League title serving as a stark reminder of the problem of not having a proper backup option for Rodri. The futures of Ilkay Gundogan and Bernardo Silva are uncertain as well at this point.
City boss Pep Guardiola is said to be an admirer of Reijnders and he’s given his recommendations for squad alterations, but he has also stressed that the final decision in all transfer matters does not lie with him.
