Arsenal have been handed a significant boost in their reported pursuit of Rodrygo Goes. According to The Athletic, the Real Madrid board and head coach Xabi Alonso have agreed to sell the Brazilian winger this summer, should a suitable offer for his services arrive.
Rodrygo was initially linked with Liverpool, but only in case Mohamed Salah didn’t renew his contract. That, however, happened – the Egyptian star has penned a new two-year deal with the Premier League champions, and all the rumours about their interest in Rodrygo immediately fell silent. Arsenal, on the other hand, are still looking to add a high-quality wide attacker, and the 24-year-old is very high on their list as their coaching staff admire his quality.
Rodrygo is apparently unhappy at the Santiago Bernabeu. There have been reservations about his ability to perform consistently, and he is believed to have told Alonso he wants to play on the left – where both Vinicius Junior and Kylian Mbappe like to play as well.
